As we continue to live through unsettling and unprecedented times, we wanted to update you all on how Northumberland Pantry is dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the time of writing, current government guidance allows food manufacturers to continue working.

Therefore, this is how we intend to keep our customers supplied –

Many of our trade customers are small independent local shops, specialist food stores and tourist or visitor attractions. For those retailers who are fortunate enough to stay open, we can continue to fulfil orders. We’re doing everything that we possibly can to support local trade through these troubling times.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to do face to face meetings and tastings, if you require a tasting session, we can post a selection of products to your premises.

For individuals, our products are available to purchase through our online Pantry. To dispatch these orders, we continue to use our network of trusted and reliable couriers. Current advice from the World Health Organisation suggests that there is no increased danger to our staff or customers when handing these packages. When receiving your delivery, please ensure you follow social distancing guidelines.

We have excellent stock levels to supply both trade customers and individuals throughout the coming months. The majority of our stock was produced in our food hygiene, 5-star rated kitchen before coronavirus was present in the UK.

So for the foreseeable future, we won’t produce any more stock. Although the supply levels of raw ingredients from local markets are currently good, we would like to ensure the fruit and vegetables are getting through to those who need them most urgently. Buying patterns are now very inconsistent, so we will continue to asses this over the coming weeks and will only resume production once the supply chain has settled.

We’ve also implemented policies and procedure to keep ourselves and the staff safe. While adhering to the 2m social distancing rule, we’ll keep our office open, so please don’t hesitate to contact us via telephone or email to discuss any requirements or concerns.

Our plans for the near future include –

We’re looking forward to helping you celebrate Easter by sharing some wonderful three-pack gift boxes. We’re planning to launch these gift boxes to our Pantry Exclusive subscribers. If you haven’t already subscribed to Pantry Exclusive, then you can do so here.

After Easter, we’ll have more news about some exciting new products and flavours. Keep tuned in to find out more!

We want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continuous support throughout these troubling times. As the current landscape is forever changing, we’ll continue to update you with any further developments or changes.

We hope everyone stays safe and well!

Alice and David.
